Introduction
Vasco da Gama was the first European to sail a route to India. He was born in a noble family around 1460 in Sine, Portugal and died on December 24, 1524 in Cochin India for overworking himself and malaria. Da Gama was nominated by King John II to lead the expedition to India for the victory of battles against the French government for disrupting the Portuguese ships by seizing their ships. His dad was originally commanded to find the route to India. However, the expedition was delayed and eventually his son had to lead the voyage. Overall, he was considered a very successful and tough explorer and a navigator and the reasons will be mentioned as you read this website.
